Brandon is the heart, hustle, and humor behind OPPA! As the founder and Executive Director, he’s been steering the ship since day one—building a vibrant community where creativity and connection take center stage. With degrees in Technical Theatre Management and a resume that includes Cirque du Soleil, Broadway stars, and an almost alarming amount of spreadsheets, Brandon blends artistic vision with strategic brilliance.

He’s a master of big dreams, quick wit, and bringing people together. Whether he's designing a set, managing a production, or giving a rousing speech about the power of belonging, Brandon leads with compassion, transparency, and just the right amount of sarcasm.

His love for theatre started young, but it’s the community that keeps him going. Brandon believes theatre changes people, and people change the world. OPPA! is proof.

Also, fun fact: he’s probably writing a musical in his head while you’re reading this.

Sarah joined OPPA! for the love of local theatre—and stuck around because she’s a powerhouse of passion, organization, and creativity. Sarah joined OPPA! for the love of local theatre—and stuck around because she’s a powerhouse of passion, organization, and creativity. With a background in dance and musical theatre (and a Bachelor's Degree in Crime Scene Investigation—yes, really), Sarah combines artistic heart with forensic-level attention to detail. Task lists, routines, and daily operations? She’s got it covered.

A lifelong dancer, Sarah’s journey has included everything from student choreography to high school drill team to directing backyard musicals for the neighbors. After an injury sidelined her from performing, OPPA! became a safe space to reconnect with the arts—and gave her the confidence to step back into the spotlight.

Fun fact: Sarah’s LEGO collection is basically Broadway in brick form—especially the Creator Expert Modular City sets and her beloved Harry Potter castles. When she’s not dancing, you’ll probably find her solving Sudokus or dominating game night.

As a self-taught tech wizard with a flair for the unconventional, they offer a unique perspective in every production. When not wrangling cue sheets, their collecting coffins (yes, really—they own three!). Theatre helped them break out of their shell as a child, and they've been chasing the spotlight (or operating it) ever since.

With nearly 30 years of theatre experience under her belt, Karen-Christina brings depth, warmth, and a whole lot of stage savvy to the OPPA! Education team. After relocating from New York to Salt Lake City, she did her research and found OPPA!’s passion for both production and education aligned perfectly with her own artistic journey.

Her background spans acting, directing, and stage management, and she’s been hooked on the magic of theatre ever since a college professor nudged her into her first audition. (Long before that, though, she was already performing for house guests as Tina Turner.)

Karen-Christina has found her theatre home at OPPA! and is thrilled to support the next generation of performers behind the scenes.

Fun fact: She’s a big fan of live comedy—because even theatre pros need a good laugh!

Sarah’s journey with OPPA! started thanks to a Facebook scroll and a son who wasn’t too keen on football. Since choosing Newsies over touchdowns, her entire family has become deeply involved, even taking the stage together in Mary Poppins. With a background in hiring and training for a large nonprofit, and a soon-to-be Master’s degree in Management and Leadership, Sarah brings heart, humor, and a whole lot of mom-energy to the board. Her favorite OPPA! memory? Building sets and performing alongside her kids. Fun fact: she’s spent countless hours making meals no one eats and washing laundry she never wore.

Chris Larsen Board Secretary

Chris brings both passion and project management to the OPPA! board. When he’s not juggling aerospace programs, he’s likely humming showtunes or prepping a scene. Inspired by a transformative viewing of Aida, Chris jumped into his first show (The Addams Family) and hasn’t looked back. Bonus fact: he performs completely blind (well, almost—no glasses onstage!).

Halee Rasmussen Board Treasurer

Sarah Cluff Board President

John Lucas Fundraising Chair

Halee joined OPPA! to support the dream of someone close to her—but stayed because she’s a rockstar in the arts world. She’s the Assistant Technical Director and Scenic Charge Artist at the University of Utah and a resident set designer at The Grand Theatre. With more than 10 ocean-themed tattoos and an allergy to cubicles, Halee is all in on creativity and out on conformity.

A proud theatre dad with roots as a high school “theater kid” himself, John reconnected with the stage through his kids and quickly realized how important community theatre still is—not just for performers, but for families.

With a background in tech theatre, stagecraft, and a little bit of everything else, John is a true jack-of-all-trades. Whether he’s helping raise funds or building magic backstage, he’s all in on supporting OPPA!’s mission and making sure the next generation gets the same joy from theatre that he did.

Fun fact: John is a two-time “Nerd Trivia” champion aboard a Carnival Cruise. Yes, there’s a trophy. Yes, he’s very proud.

From making Peter Pan fly to performing in Guys and Dolls, John has always loved the magic of live theatre—and now he gets to pass that passion on to his kids and community.

Andrea was drawn to OPPA! after watching her son find more than just a stage—he found a second home. Inspired by the way OPPA! fosters creativity, confidence, and connection, she joined the team to help support the very community that had such a profound impact on her family.

With a strong background in organization, communication, and collaboration, Andrea brings both heart and structure to her role. She’s a passionate supporter of the arts, especially when it comes to helping families feel seen, supported, and celebrated.

Fun fact: One of her most treasured OPPA! memories is performing in a show alongside her son—an experience that blended her love of the arts with her favorite role: mom.

Andrea’s own creative roots began with quieter crafts like quilting and cross-stitching, where storytelling was stitched into every detail. Now, her story continues through OPPA!, where she helps build community one night, one family, and one performance at a time.

That leap turned into a summer full of friendship, rediscovered joy, and a renewed love for music and theatre.

With a lifelong background in choir and performance, plus skills in management and accounting, Kylie brings both heart and strategy to the OPPA! board. She’s passionate about helping others find the same joy and confidence that performing has given her.

Fun fact: Kylie is a Lord of the Rings superfan and shares a birthday with John Rhys-Davies (aka Gimli)—who she’s met several times while volunteering at Salt Lake FanX!

Music has always been her first love—she’s been belting Phantom of the Opera since age 12 and dreams of playing Lily in The Secret Garden. Thanks to a challenge from a supportive friend, Kylie returned to the stage after years away—and she hasn’t looked back.

Jory stumbled upon OPPA! through a conversation with the Layton RAMP committee and instantly lit up at the discovery: “Wait—Layton has a community theatre? Where?!” After attending a few shows, he was hooked. With a background in community theatre from his youth, Jory is thrilled to have the arts back in his life and now serves on the OPPA! board, ready to support the magic both on and off stage.

Professionally, Jory is a powerhouse of people-focused expertise—with experience in risk management, occupational safety, training, HR, and leadership development. His personal mission? To make people’s lives better in any way he can—and OPPA! is one more stage for him to do just that.

Fun fact: Jory is a full-fledged LEGO master. His family has over 600 sets (yes, you read that right) with builds always in progress and proudly displayed throughout the house. The passion is real—and contagious.

Theatre played a transformative role in Jory’s life, especially during his teen years when he struggled with confidence. Thanks to incredible mentors like Michael Bahr and Dee Pace, he found belonging and strength through the arts. Now, he’s paying it forward—bringing that same sense of support and joy to the next generation through OPPA!.

Watching her kids grow in confidence, creativity, and purpose inspired her to give back to the theatre that gave them so much. Now she serves on the board, helping ensure that magic reaches even more families.

She’s been involved in community theatre since age 13 (shoutout to her debut as “the old lady in the wheelchair” in Bye Bye Birdie), and she’s never quite shaken the joy of turning nothing into something on stage. After a 15-year break from performing, she made her long-awaited return in 2024—right here at OPPA!—and it reminded her just how much theatre feeds the soul.

Fun fact: One of Erin’s very first jobs was as a puppet maker. Yep—she’s been creating characters in every form for a long time.
