Synopsis:

Synopsis:
Based on the true story of astronomer Henrietta Leavitt, Silent Sky follows her groundbreaking work at Harvard Observatory in the early 1900s. As she maps the stars, she also navigates the limits placed on women in science. Poetic, powerful, and inspiring, this play explores the connection between the cosmos and the human spirit.

Join us on Saturday, September 13th from 1:00–3:00 PM at OPPA! for the very first event in our brand-new Creating Together: Art & Community at OPPA! series. This month, we’re diving into the colorful world of cartoons, where you’ll draw, color, and paint yourself as a cartoon character and create a comic strip.

For our September kickoff, we’re diving into Qui Nguyen’s hilarious and heartfelt play, She Kills Monsters. Packed with 90s pop culture, wild Dungeons & Dragons adventures, and touching moments of self-discovery, this story invites you into a world where epic battles meet heartfelt connections. We’ll read short scenes aloud (no acting experience needed), share thoughts, and discuss its themes.
